The Purpose Driven Life

STILL STANDING

A comedy about a blue-collar Chicago couple working to raise their three children responsibly and not lose sight of their own youthfulness. After 17 years of marriage, high school sweethearts Bill (Mark Addy) and Judy Miller (Jami Gertz) still make each other laugh and try to keep their marriage intact, even when their family pulls them in different directions. Judy's unmarried sister, Linda (Jennifer Irwin), butts heads with Bill, and the Millers' precocious teenage daughter, Lauren (Renee Olstead), thinks her parents are uncool. Meanwhile, their uptight, studious son, Brian (Taylor Ball), is just discovering girls, and their youngest child, Tina (Soleil Borda), would prefer to run around naked. In addition to spending time with his family, Bill spends a good deal of time with his best friend, Danny Fitzsimmons (Joel Murray), who is working to raise his own son, who happens to be gay. Since Bill has a far more immature approach to marriage and raising children than Judy does, they work at striking a balance and remembering why they love each other, quirks and all.  Don't miss it on ABC Family at 12 pm, 12:30 pm, 6:00 pm, & 6:30 pm ET

Dye your hair with Kool Aid

You might think this is insane! but hey its true no more trips to the market and no more harsh chemicals just buy a pack of Kool-Aid mix powder and see the job get done! The color will last several washes after applied and your hair will have that fruity delicious smell. ;) You ready?

How To:
1. this technique will be more effective with light hair than with dark hair.' Nevertheless, these steps will demonstrate that using Kool-Aid can still tint dark hair.

2. Put on gloves. Don't worry if you don't though, you can still remove the Kool-Aid from your skin.

3. Apply some petroleum jelly to your skin all around your head. This will make the color wash off more easily when you're done. Use a lot on your ears!

4. Add the Kool-Aid to a small bowl. Use unsweetened, to avoid sticky hair. Don't use the artificially sweetened kind either, as the chemicals could bother your eyes. In this example, three packages of Tropical Punch are used for a reddish tint. You may need to use more packages, depending on the length of your hair, and how deep you want the color. This is a very messy process. (Blue is best made by combining blue raspberry flavor with a little grape.)

5. Add just a few drops of water to the Kool-Aid. You want a paste, not a liquid.

6. Add a few drops of conditioner to make the color from the Kool-Aid permeate the hair a little more evenly. It also helps make a paste.

7. Mix the three packages of Kool-Aid, the water, and the conditioner, until you get a smooth paste. All the lumps have to be completely gone.

8. Work the paste into the hair. This is the fun part. You need help for this. Try to massage it into the hair, and not the scalp.

9. Wrap the hair in several long strips of sandwich wrap. You'll have to sleep in it, so do a good job!

10. Secure it carefully with tape. This isn't just to protect the furniture, or to keep the dog from licking your head. It's to keep the moisture in, and the dye acting longer.

11. After a good night's sleep, remove the plastic wrap. Don't be dismayed by the gruesome colours on your skin ... everything washes off!

12. Thoroughly wash your hair, apply conditioner, and wash again. Then comb it out and wait for it to dry. The final tint will be less obvious with wet hair.

13. Here's the final result. As we predicted, dark hair will show only a tint, rather than a complete colour change.
